COVID-19 Response at Minneola Place

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic continues to change and unfortunately, in some cases, worsen. Florida is experiencing a surge in cases, and at Minneola Place we've instituted a response plan to ensure the safety of our residents. The comfort and care of our residents.

Staff Testing Our staff undergoes COVID-19 testing every two weeks, regardless if they are symptomatic or not. We do this in compliance with State of Florida guidelines and to ensure that the people most commonly coming and going from the facility - our staff - do not unknowingly expose residents to COVID-19.

Resident Testing

Our residents will undergo testing once a month, regardless of symptoms. While we are limiting visitors and resident travel, some trips may be unavoidable - like to healthcare appointments. Resident testing is performed on a voluntary basis to identify potential infections quickly.

Positive COVID-19 Response If someone in a community tests positive for COVID-19, we've implemented the following:

  • Transfer of a COVID-19 positive resident to a local hospital as necessary and available.

  • Transfer of a COVID-19 positive resident to our specially isolated COVID-19 care area. Our COVID Care Area is separated and isolated from other parts of our facility. We have specially designated staff trained in isolation care procedures.

  • COVID-19 positive staff will remain at home until cleared to return to work by medical staff.

Personal Protective Equipment for Staff

All of our staff is provided surgical masks, gloves and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to wear at all times in our facility for the safety of our resident. We have also required them to wear masks during any and all activities outside of work.

Social Distancing

Social distancing will be maintained during all activities, and certain social and leisure activities may be postponed or cancelled while social distancing requirements are maintained.

Disinfection and Cleaning

We maintain an ample supply of hand sanitizer for staff and residents, as well as a stocked handwashing station. Frequency of cleaning has been increased during this time.

Visitation Restrictions

The State of Florida requires us to restrict visitors during this time. We have worked to set up video conferencing technology (such as Skype) so residents can have virtual calls with family and friends. Residents having trouble setting up a video call can be assisted by our staff.

Tours and Move-Ins

Tours of our facility will be limited to virtual tours until further notice. For prospective residents who are scheduled to move-in, we will perform a COVID-19 test prior to move-in for the safety of our staff and residents.
